Calming pranayams such as Nadi Shodhana, the alternate nostril breathing with kumbhaka (retentions) helps balance the ida and pingala nadis that act as channels for the prana flow, Bhramari, the humming bee breath that helps create calm in the nervous system with its vibratory effect, vigorous breathing practices such as Kapalbhati and Bhastrika help increase the graceful flow of prana through the body's energy channels (nadis).
